Twilly d’Hermès – Flirty and exciting and original

Since Kay and I started this website nine (yes, NINE) years ago, the niche fragrance market has exploded. Each year there are literally dozens of new fragrance houses popping up and hundreds of new niche fragrances launched.

This is great news for niche fragrance lovers. And, it’s lots of fun for hobbyists like Kay and me, but with so much going on, inevitably some things are going to be back-burnered.

Salvatore Ferragamo headquarters - Palazzo Spini Feroni, Florence, Italy

“OK, the last thing I want to buy before we go home is a bottle of Uomo Salvatore Ferragamo Signature,” he said.

La Fumée Arabie – spicy and woody and smoky

One of my favorite smoky scents is La Fumée by British indie perfume house Miller Harris. I’ve worn it on and off since I first discovered it in 2011 and, dare I say, it is as close to a signature scent for me as I dare to go.

Vanilla Shot – vanilla-y and resinous and original

Bertrand Duchaufour - remember him? Sure you do. A few years back this über - talented nose seemed to be was everywhere, all the time, and we couldn’t get enough of his swoon worthy fragrances. And, then around 2015 we started to see less from him, especially after he left his positon as Perfumer in Residence at L’Artisan.
