Comme des Garçons LUXE Patchouli - Much, much more than patchouli

Fall and Winter are my favourite perfume seasons. That’s when I get to wear my favourites and they do their magic on me once again – I’m like a cat on catnip, a kid with a new toy – total bliss. Like Gwen, I crave dark, rich, spicy scents when the weather is cold – this week she reached for Sables by Annick Goutal, I chose LUXE Patchouli by Comme des Garçons.

Sables – What a love note! (November 10, 2010 New Fragrance Listing)

Winter Delice – It’s De-lish! (November 5, 2010 New Fragrance Listing)

What would happen if you put the following in a bottle:

A blast of dry icy arctic air
Snow-covered fir trees
A basket of pine cones
Boughs of balsam, decorated with pomanders
Wafts of incense from Midnight Mass
Freshly baked shortbread

Dead Sexy No. 6 Parfum – It’s a treat! (October 31st, 2010 New Fragrance Listing)

Black Aoud – Best Seller? I’ll take it! (October 29, 2010 New Fragrance Listing)

Black aoud -

I love wood notes in fragrances, but they can be weird, as in agarwood, commonly known as aoud, or oudh. Used in Eastern perfumery for centuries, oudh has a sour musty top-note that is difficult to get past for some people. But not for me, not for Gwen – we like weird.
