"Twas the night before Christmas" - Niche style

In 2011, Gwen and I had a lot of fun writing our version of the beloved Christmas poem by Clement Moore, Twas the Night Before Christmas.  This seasonal classic is a favourite of ours, one which we read every Christmas Eve without fail to our children when they were young, following the tradtion set by our own parents. We’ve sniffed, spritzed, splashed, dabbed, read about, dreamed about, longed for, searched for, paid for, and written about a lot of fragrances, and now 2017 is coming to an end. Our fascination with beautiful smells is as passionate as when we began writing about them in 2010.

One of my favourite Christmas films is ‘Love Actually’ and Karen, a stay at home Mom played by Emma Thompson, is one of my favourite characters in the film. I love the scene where Karen’s daughter, Daisy, comes home from school, all excited to tell her mother that she has landed a big part in the nativity play at school:

I was trolling around a few fragrance websites a while ago, and I found this article by blogger Claire Vukcevic called ‘The Top Ten Niche Fragrances Every Beginner Should Sample’. It’s a really well-written piece and she makes a lot of good points for why she made the choices she did.
