A new door opened into the world of contemporary perfume in 2003 with the launch of Narciso Rodriguez for her EdT. An unapologetic floral with an elegance that defies description, Narciso Rodriguez for her EdT with its rich musky waft, was aimed at a younger, more urban and affluent perfume consumer who probably didn’t even know she was seeking chic elegance, but who instantly “got it” and identified NRfh as a modern classic. Chic and sensual and subtle, it’s not sex in a bottle, but the promise of sex in a bottle.

In 2014, Narsico Rodriguez launched NARCISO, an eau de parfum. “I wanted to create an extremely sexy fragrance that would turn a man’s head…” says the designer. To say he succeeded is an understatement. If NRfh is the promise of sex in a bottle, then NARCISO is seduction in a bottle.

NARCISO starts with a creamy musky-floral accord that expands with ambery vanilla notes, and then deepens into a truly beautiful floral heart. Bulgarian rose layered with white gardenia expands the creamy sensation, adding sweetness and a disarming ultra-feminine warmth so that NARCISO begins to literally glow.

And this radiance builds as NARCISO dries down. Notes of aromatic cedar and distinctive green vetiver seep through the sweetness, considerably deepening and strengthening the feminine core. A complex mix of musk pulls the basenotes into a final accord that’s sultry and sensual, feminine and vulnerable but with an assertive power in its appeal. The power of seduction.

Not flashy or overstated, NARCISO, in its perfectly elegant white-cube glass bottle with the nude-colour square cap, is a truly beautiful perfume that makes me feel effortlessly beautiful every time I wear it. It’s a Five Star in my book.
