New in niche

Heeley is launching a collection of 100% natural perfumes, with Vetiver Veritas as the first in the line, available in June. Notes are Haitian vetiver, lavender, peppermint and grapefruit.

Interested in other Heeley scents? Gwen and Kay have Cardinal, Iris de Nuit, Hippie Rose and Cuire Pleine Fleur on offer.

Vintage appeal

Poking around for vintage perfume ads—print and television—is a fun way to get a glimpse into our perfumed past. Here, for a change of pace, is a link to a vintage radio commercial, this one for Heaven Sent by Helena Rubinstein. This 1968 jingle is a bit of an ear-worm, so you’ve been warned! Check out Barbara Herman’s Yesterday’s Perfume blog for links to other—mostly television—ads.

Deals, deals, deals

Father’s Day is almost here: check out your favourite online fragrance shops for special discounts, as many are offering special prices or shipping reductions.

Nosing around

Charna Ethier of Providence Perfumes is a great talent—her Gypsy, Eva Luna, and Rose Boheme are all beauties! If you’re in the Providence Rhode Island area, you can take part in her weekend-long natural perfumery workshop on June 7-8. You get 12 hours of intensive instruction in a small class setting, and over $250 worth of take-home perfumery materials. You can find out more on the Providence Perfume website.

Interested in trying some of her frags? Gwen and Kay have Tabac Citron, Moss Gown and Branch & Vine on offer.

Makes me want to try it

Hermès is launching a line of new bath and body products called Le Bain. Check out this post from Bois de Jasmin for details—I can’t wait to give them a sniff.

Just because

I should have posted this at Easter time, but it’s adorable enough for anytime. Bunny gets a bath. Cuuuute!
