L'Air du Désert Marocain

dunes image.

I think Andy Tauer is at the top of the niche list in terms of concept and quality. L'Air du Désert Marocain is one of his first scents , and it is remarkable. I can't think of another perfume from any house which smells like it - dry, warm, earthy and subtly complex.

It opens with citrus, bergamot and the dry smell of cedar, on a bed of rose and white jasmine. Then the spice and resins enter the scene - coriander, geranium, vetiver-  grounded by the base notes of vanilla, patchouli, and ambergris.

Dry, exotic, sensuous   - for me it conjures visions of a spectacular sunset on the Sahara Desert, with Bedouin tents in silhouette.

Men and women both love this fragrance.
